Seriously... what is with all these collaborations? I mean I think its fantastic when designers team up with cheaper outlets such as A-Wang for Target and Sonia Rykiel for H&M, that is fantastic. It brings beautifully designed clothes to the masses, and for those who cant afford it (a.k.a ME) BUT... I don't understand it when designers collaborate with technology. Like Jill Stuart's PSP, OPI for Dell and Vivian Tam for HP. Honestly, do girls get gimmicked into thinking that if they buy this shit that they are cooler?? NO it usually just means that you paid a shit load more for the same shit... its just PINK or PRETTY.

Yesterday was a lovely rainy day, and was just the perfect day for having good coffee and hiding out in a book shop. I missioned it out to Westend and had brunch with a friend, and walked into an amazing bookshop, where I stumbled across this gi-normous coffee table book of which was about life and work of an artist called Charley Harper. In the words of RZ - I D.I.E. He's an American modern artist and does work which I would say is a bit retro chic, but SOOOOO incredibly cute! He does a lot of work with animals, and I just wanna make his artwork into wallpaper/wrapping paper/cards.... pretty much any type of stationary!

Anyway.... in the book he has some prints with squirrels.... you know how much I love them!! But I couldnt really find any of that online so I REALLLLLLY want to buy this massssive book but its like a million bucks!! PLEASE somebody sponsor me!!!

So for those of you who don't know I am obsessed with TV shows, and one that I just so happen to be obsessed about is Skins (for those who aren't into it, get into it...NOW). My all time favourite character is Effy, love her dark/mysterious nature and the fact that she doesn't talk at all in the first 2 seasons. But what I LOVE most about her is her style, and her eye makeup!! If I had the patience and the time of day I would soooo be hitting that. I never thought I would do this but.... Ive bought myself a pair of Crocs... YES thats right Crocs. I abso-fucking-lutly despise people that wear Crocs, especially the family of Crocs wearing idiots. But Ive been converted, after searching endlessly for a pair of flats that don't dig at my heels plus have some support,I found them. My friend was wearing a nice pair of black flats and I was like ohhhh nice shoes, where are they from? and shes like they're Crocs, and I am like no farking way!! So I forced my way to a Croc shop and unwillingly made myself try on a pair. Ahhhh will never look back now...they have to be THE most comfortable things that have graced my feet, second to being barefoot. They're a bit like the Mellisa's that I wanted but these are much more comfortable (hard to believe cause Mellisa's are pretty damn comfy and a whole lot cheaper).I swear I will never knock a person that wears Crocs again (apart from the Croc families). I originally wanted the plain black ones, but sold out in my size (boo), so opted for the blue plaid...

Vogue Australia turns a big 5-0 this month, and there are four commemorative covers of the September issue, one of which is a limited boxed edition. I bought mine, hehe and I love it. Normally I never bother with Vogue Australia but have to admit this issue is worth buying! One quite interesting article by the Editor Kristie Clements, about her life in Vogue. I will try and find it somewhere and post it. PLUS not to mention the SICK ass fashion editorial ("Come as you are") they have with Abbey Lee and Catherine McNeil photographed by Greg Kadel. They said it takes 3 to 4 crocs to make ONE bag...honestly! I don't even like crocs, they aren't even cute and I have tears in my eyes! and they are saying they need to make 3000 croc bags a year... well people stop making a demand for them! ! ! !

Why I love it?
PHI's clothes are modern with an urban touch. Melbostad reworks 1980s silhouettes and fuses them with sharp tailoring and construction. Following last year's Chanel mobile art show, Louis Vuitton is now exhibiting works through installations combining works of art and archive documents HK Museum of Art. Got to love how fashion and art work so well together!! Its also showing off the works of the new art gallery to be built by iconic architect, Frank Gehry has designed a powerful and innovative building to embody the ambitions of the Foundation Louis Vuitton pour la Création, in Paris.

Behind the label: Josh Goot

Taken inspiration from Olivia at Musings à la Mode, I have decided to start a regular fashion 101 post the story behind the label.

To start it off, the first post will be looking at a home grown inspiration, Josh Goot.

Who created it?
Josh Goot, born in Sydney in 1980, attended the city's University of Technology, studying media art and production. In 1999, he moved to NY, before returning to Sydney and in 2004 starting his own label. A year later, he won Australia's Tiffany & Co Young Designer of the Year award. He has now relocated back to NY, where he has based his business. Goot has forged a relationship with Australian Wool Innovation to develop special fabrics. He debuted in NYFW in Sept. 2006 and now shows at LFW. Since his launch he was done collaborations with Josh Goot for Target range.

Why I love it?
First of all he's Australian. Secondly, Goot's clothes fit beautifully while being modern and cool. His S/S09 collection was inspired by water colors and features clothing spattered with paints and psychedelic swirl prints. Other selections from the collection include contrasting block colors, which I personally love the most!

I am addicted to blogging and blogs right now and guess what, apparently Lane Crawford is also. The store's new ad campaign blogs the S/S '09 collections from NY/ Milan/London/Paris Fashion Week and showcases the coming season's latest and greatest in accessories and shoes, like the caged YSL shoes! It also takes a look at what the Vogue editors are doing/wearing including French Vouge's freaky looking Carine Roitfeld in a pink hair coat.

I asked mum to get me the Rimmel bronzer as in powder bronzer that you put on your face... and she gets me the bronzer which is the fake tan. Was quite disapointed, but then I tried it out, and is freakin awesome! It still has that gross ass fake tan smell, but the colour is pretty much instant and gives you a shimmer too. So now at the end of winter I look like an LA hoe, actually cross that, I look like a Miami crass hoe, and I love it!

New magazine called LOVE, by Conde Nast is pretty awesome. Just like Vouge, but more artsy and more exxie!!! I went into the bookstore to buy a book on the weekend, which cost me like $80, and ended up buying LOVE for $140, but still worth it especially cause its the first edition.
